While Cinco de Mayo is always a cheat day in my book, it’s tough to swallow how many calories the holiday’s signature drink comes with. Until now. Say hello to the under-100-calorie margarita. Total game changer. I mean, do you know how many calories that frees up? Excuse me while I run to the store for another bag of tortilla chips. The Under-100-Calorie Margarita
Makes 1 drink.25 oz tequila
2 oz sparkling water, lemon lime essence (like Calistoga, Crystal Geyser, or Sparkling ICE)
1 oz lime juice
0.5 oz orange juice
0.5 tsp light agave syrup
Dash of salt (for coating the rim of the glass)
Ice (for mixing)
Lime wedge or round (for garnish)
- Shake the first five ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Rub a lime along the rim of your glass before dipping it in the salt.
- Pour the contents of the shaker into the glass rimmed with salt. Garnish with lime wedge or round.
