Thousands of people still remain displaced after the 2011 nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan. So, following his recent visit to the country, Jimmy Choo decided to take action.

The shoe designer announced last Friday that he has created six pairs of shoes made from local Fukushima materials, like Aizu cotton and Kawamata silk, and by using artisanal techniques native to the region. Each one-of-a-kind design is meant to shine a spotlight on the stunning craftsmanship of the area, and the proceeds will be donated to local organizations that help those affected by the tragedy.
