Waltham-based Constant Contact, providers of a suite of business marketing solutions, has released the latest version of their iPhone app, QuickView 3.0. The new version of the app allows users to actually create email marketing messages on the go – a first in the industry. The app comes days after release of their third quarter financial results, where Constant Contact boasted 34 percent year over year revenue growth.

Users create email marketing messages on the QuickView app by selecting from five different colors of pre-made mobile templates. These templates allow you to edit fields for a title, image (which you can upload from the camera or take in real-time), text, and footer link. This new version of QuickView also allows users to import contacts from the phone’s address book directly into their Constant Contact account, which is great for business travelers and people at trade shows, conferences and other events.

If not familiar with the prior version of QuickView, this Constant Contact app allows users to send previously created emails, manage contact lists, post emails as links to Facebook and Twitter, see open and click through rate stats, and view the individuals who engaged on the most recent email marketing campaign in real-time.

We use Constant Contact here at BostInnovation so we went ahead and tested out the app’s new functionality by sending an internal email message. While not a lot of color options, the basic newsletter template got the job done and is perfect when you need to send quick, email message that looks more prepared than a standard, bulk Bcc’ed (or worse, “Sent from my iPhone”) message. With a simple user experience, we look forward to seeing the functionality grow and develop.

Constant Contact filed to go public in the summer of 2007 with revenues of $27.5M. They currently have a market cap of $664M and revenues of over $150M. The company employs over six hundred people here is Massachusetts.
