In January, it’s all too easy to hibernate. But if you easily suffer from cabin fever, we have an easy solution: dance your problems away.

If clubs aren’t your thing, we understand – and we’ve rounded up six dance nights in Boston and Cambridge that cater to a variety of movers and shakers in the area. (If clubs are your thing, we direct you to check out Boston’s newest nightclub, Stage. Assume it has everything.) Whether you dig oldies, salsa or house, there’s a place where you can get your groove on. It’s the best way to stay warm in the winter, we promise.

Soulelujah

Saturday nights starting at 11 p.m., Zuzu and Middle East

Like Motown? More drawn to hits of yesteryear than modern dance tracks? Does The Jackson 5 get your motor running smoother than One Direction? Then head to Soulelujah in Central Square. The dance party takes over both Zuzu and the Middle East Upstairs, and once you go once, you’ll definitely be going back. Cover is $8; 21+

Heroes

Saturday nights starting at 10 p.m., TT the Bear’s Place

Around the corner from Soulelujah is “Heroes,” a Saturday night dance party hosted by DJ Chris Ewens at TT’s in Central Square. Ewens spins throwback dance tunes, mainly from the 80s, focusing on new wave, electro and punk jams – and the evening was recently awarded ‘Best Dance Night’ by the Boston Music Awards. Wondering where you can finally dance to Blondie in Boston? Look no further. Cover is $7; 18+

Oh Snap! 90s Dance Party

Thursday nights starting at 10 p.m., Zuzu

Relive the 90s and dance the night away in nostalgia every Thursday at Zuzu in Central Square. The DJs rotate weekly, so you’ll always get a fresh (to death) set of jams. Free before 11 p.m. or $5 after; 21+.

Picó Picante

Monthly; Good Life

Experience a different side of Good Life during the monthly Picó Picante transnational and tropical bass party and dance night. The next event is tonight at 10 p.m., and the featured DJs are Princess Nokia (live), Riobamba, Oxycontinental and Blk.Adonis. Check Good Life’s calendar for future dates and more dance nights. Tickets are $5 before 11 p.m. or $10 after; 21+

Club Caribe Salsa Thursdays

Thursday nights starting at 8 p.m.; Havana Club

If you’ve secretly been wanting – no, needing – to learn how to salsa dance, immediately head to Havana Club in Cambridge for Club Caribe’s Salsa Thursdays (normally held at the Courtyard Marriott, which is undergoing renovations). Each night begins with an hour long lesson from 8 to 9 p.m., which is then followed by a salsa dance party until midnight. Cover for the evening is $10, plus an extra $5 for the optional class.

Make It New

Thursday nights starting at 9 p.m.; Middlesex Lounge

If you find your vibe listening to electronic dance music, head to Middlesex Lounge every Thursday night for Make It New, the bar’s weekly electro dance night hosted by a rotating crew of DJs. Cover varies week to week; 21+
