TGIF, people! If you were a child of the nineties, then you definitely remember the hit TV show Boy Meets World. Cory, Topanga and Mr. Feeny – we couldn’t get enough of these characters. And if you didn’t stay home every Friday night to watch ABC’s TGIF line-up of (somewhat) hokey sitcoms, then you probably weren’t a nineties kid I hung out with.

Well now, nearly 20 years later, the hit show has finally sprung a spin-off called Girl Meets World. And according to Time, Disney has just ordered more episodes of the upcoming show, Girl Meets World, “before the pilot has even aired.”

The spinoff will follow Boy Meets World stars Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Fishel) “as they raise young daughter (Rowan Blanchard),” as noted by Time. Girl Meets World should premiere sometime later this year and is now set for a full season of 21 episodes.

Boy Meets World ran for seven seasons on ABC and followed the ups-and-downs of Cory Matthews and his friends from junior high through college. We’ll have to wait and see how the new sitcom compares – for old times sake, anyway.
