Cambridge-based Yottaa, backed by General Catalyst and one of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Start-Up Challenge finalists, is one of Boston’s many cloud-based solution providers. No matter how you feel about the recent AWS outage, you are bound to enjoy the company’s latest offering: Yottaa Optimizer.

Yottaa Optimizer is a cloud-based website speed acceleration service. And it will double your website’s speed after just a matter of clicks from you. What does this mean for your company and visitors who frequent your site? Faster browsing, improved conversions, and better search results.

It’s free, currently in private beta, and what’s almost better than that: The company has designed the service to be incredibly simple to implement. As in, no code change requirements, no hardware and no software to buy. This means you don’t need to be a rockstar in JavaScript or otherwise. They pitch, “Sign up in 3 minutes and your site will be automatically faster.”

Sounds like magic to me, which is great. However, if you’re interested in the technology behind the solution you best know your cloud jargon. The company uses a “global elastic multi-cloud network and its patent pending cloud routing technology” to optimize website pages in real-time. It does this by using more than one hundred techniques like domain sharding, CSS spiriting, and content delivery network balancing.

“Web-based businesses understand that visitors to their sites have a ‘need for speed,’ but many are held back by the complexity and expense of manual optimization,” said Coach Wei, co-founder and CEO of Yottaa. “Yottaa Optimizer empowers businesses of all sizes with a simple but powerful solution that instantly accelerates website performance, and unlocks business value for Web teams.”

Yottaa Optimizer complements the company’s initial product, Yottaa Insight, which tests and monitors web page speed and provides site owners with suggestions for better optimization. Yottaa Insight is currently monitoring and scoring the performance across nearly 40,000 websites. (Learn more about the product with our interview with Coach Wei from September.)
