Oh, Dunkin’. You just continue to woo New Englanders’ hearts with your ad promos. The latest for certain, which is a co-branded campaign with the studio behind the upcoming movie Captain America: The First Avenger. The ad features a damsel in distress chasing her dog through a construction work zone. Watch as one handsome construction worker helps save her day and dog, along the way transforming by circumstance into Captain America. The ad also includes sneak peak footage of the soon-to-be-released movie.

The video is in fact the result of Dunkin’s first ever partnership with a movie production studio, and we think the two collaborated no short of well in nailing brand resonation without being inauthentic. Dunkin’ released the ad on YouTube yesterday, and it has already been viewed over 4,200 times:

Other elements to this movie partnership, alongside kicking it off right before July 4th weekend:

  • Star-shaped and stars and stripes donuts and a Captain America Coolatta, available in a limited edition, tri-partitioned First Avenger cup that lets customers try three different flavors.
  • The two brand have launched “America’s Super-Soldiers,” a co-branded, Facebook contest where fans can nominate members of the military or veterans as “Super Soldiers.” The winner will enjoy $5,000 in cash, an HDTV, Blu-Ray DVD player, and a bunch of movies in which Dunkin’ products are featured. The person who nominated the Super Soldier will win $1,000 and a $100 Dunkin’ gift card.

Captain America: The First Avenger is directed by Joe Johnston, with Chris Evans starring as the Marvel Comics supersoldier. The movie hits theaters July 22.

We think this is one of the best movie tie in promotions we have ever seen. What do you think about the ad and co-branded campaign? Let us know in the comments!
