It’s no secret that Boston is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Mario Batali’s Eataly. Thankfully, it looks as though we’re oh-so-close to roaming those pasta-filled aisles. The Boston Globe is reporting that the Italian food emporium is close to signing a deal at the Prudential Center in 2016.

The Globe notes that the new Eataly location will span “45,000 square feet and three floors.” Eataly Boston will also feature “a vast gourmet marketplace near the center of the Pru’s interior shopping area,” offering  vegetables, pastas, olive oils and other Italian groceries.

Inside Eataly Boston, the Globe mentions that there will be at least six eateries, “from a pizza and pasta restaurant to a rooftop grill and brewery with a retractable ceiling and patio.”

Mario Batali’s first Boston restaurant, Babbo Pizzeria, opened just last night in the Seaport. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the upcoming Eataly Boston once we have more information.
