If you don’t have plans for this sunny Saturday, you’re in luck. Tickets are still available for Boston’s second annual JerkFest and Rum & Brew Tasting, and it’s going to be quite the food and drink celebration. Interested? Here’s what you need to know about the festival.

The one-day only event is comprised of two sessions: the first kicks off today at 11 a.m. and lasts till 3 p.m., the second continues from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. It’s taking over the indoor and outdoor space at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, and you can expect lots of Jamaican Jerk foods as well as other spicy and flavorful eats. Local Caribbean chefs have joined together to bring you the best of their spicy fare, and this year, there will be even more jerk: every participating restaurant will be bringing one jerk dish. In addition to the food prepared by chefs, there will be authentic Caribbean foods for sale, including spicy jams, nuts, desserts and homemade drinks.

This time around, there will also be a competitive side to the festival. Sponsored by Boston Collaborative Food for Fitness and Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance, chefs will compete in a Seafood Throwdown, vying for the best jerk dish of the day. More chef demos will go on throughout the afternoon as well. In addition to the live demos, there will be Caribbean-themed live music to set the island mood of the afternoon.

Interested in more than just jerk? Buy tickets for the Rum and Brew Tasting, which will feature unlimited tasting samples of Caribbean mead, cider and rums. Like the chef demos, there will be cocktail demos within the tasting space, with bartenders shaking up their best ‘irie’ cocktail for guests to sample. This boozy portion of the festival runs two sessions within the festival hours, the first from 12 to 3 p.m. and the second from 5 to 8 p.m. While the JerkFest is family friendly, the Rum and Brew Tasting is 21 and over.

Got all that? If you’re interested in heading to the South End festival today, tickets are $12 for JerkFest only entrance ($5 for kids, food not included) and $45 for JerkFest and Rum and Brew Tasting entrance.
