When you’re trying to track your exercise progress the last thing you want to deal with is a nasty rash around your wrist. Recent customer complaints report the popular gadget, the Fitbit Force, has been causing skin irritation surrounding the wrist tracker. The company is responding very well to the issues and is offering a refund for the full retail price of $129.95.

Fitbit is taking these matters very seriously and conducting labs and hiring medical experts to see what is going on. According to the Washington Post, “Fitbit has stopped sales of its latest model, the Fitbit Force, and instituted a voluntary recall after reports that the health-tracking band was giving some users an allergic reaction.” Fitbit CEO, James Park says the irritation is likely due to the nickel in the stainless steel device.

With the current popularity of fitness trackers, Fitbit isn’t wasting anytime on fixing their current issues or creating a new model. Park states that the company will soon announce a new style within the Fitbit brand and continue to work on improving past generations. The company has three previous models, the Flex, the One, and the Zip, which have not been reported as causing any irritations or hives.

As reported on ABC News, if you are experiencing an issue with your Fitbit Force, you are encouraged to visit their website or call the companies support line at: 888-656-6381. Regardless of the reasoning behind these rashes, it seems that Fitbit is properly handling the situation at hand or shall we say, wrist.
