Are you a lover of old movies?

This Thursday, January 30, YellowKorner in Burlington is hosting an open house, celebrating the classic American cinema inspired photographic art collection from renowned husband and wife photography team, Formento + Formento.

For those unfamiliar with YellowKorner, it is headquartered in Paris with 80 galleries worldwide, but Burlington is YellowKorner’s first Massachusetts location. The gallery exhibits and markets photographic art with the goal of bridging the gap between world-renowned artists and people like you and me. And if you’re looking to revamp your apartment, YellowKorner’s photographic prints will perfectly replace those blank walls.

This Thursday, you can check out some of the photographic art displays for yourself during this weeknight artist rendezvous. A preview of the Formento + Formento photography open house can be seen in the slideshow below.

This photograph collection is Formento + Forment0’s exclusive Circumstance collection which draws upon the legacy of classic American cinema director Alfred Hitchcock combined with the erie sensuality of American realist painter and print maker, Edward Hopper. Locations for shooting were scouted during the photographers’ exploration of rural California and the subjects they photographed were women often encountered on the same day the image was created.

Guests can experience the artwork while sipping on a few libations, of course. The open house will offer drinks provided by Deep Eddy Vodka. In addition, YellowKorner will educate guests on their artist roster – including “some of the greatest names in photography, all of whom have accepted to exceptionally increase the print volume of some of their works to make prices affordable,” as noted in a release.

“Our goal as a gallery is to bridge the gap between world-renowned artists and art lovers of varying socioeconomic classes,” states YellowKorner North America CEO, Joseph Peteul. “With the arrival of the new year, and our arrival to the North Shore, we wanted to open our doors to our new neighbors and introduce YellowKorner and one of its finest artists to the community.”

You can see the collection for yourself at YellowKorner beginning at 7 p.m. this Thursday at Burlington Mall.
