A great Bloody Mary holds great power. An awful Bloody Mary sucks. And this Sunday, Met Back Bay puts your fate in your hands.

They’re rolling out their ‘Crafty Bloody Mary Bar,’ and you and your hungover self should probably partake.

Of course, every great workman needs his tools. The Met’s process to Bloody Mary bliss has multiple components, and among all five of the Met locations (find them all here), there are 13,000 Bloody combinations of delicious hair-of-the-dog libations for you to concoct. Did you have better plans this Sunday? I didn’t think so.

First, you pick your poison, and by that, I mean liquor. Your options entail the classic vodka from Belvedere, Belvedere Bloody, Ketel One or Ketel Citron; gin offerings like Tanqueray or Hendricks; three varieties of Don Julio tequila, and – if you’re fancy – Bulleit Bourbon. (The price of your Bloody will vary depending on what likka you choose, so choose wisely.)

Now that the most important decision is over with, the fun begins. Pick some fixins and garnishes, like the classic celery, the bold pepperoncini, the sweet but tangy sour pickle, or the over-the-top: oysters, clams, a mini cheeseburger, shrimp, or lobster. The Met is for real not messing around. Once you’ve pimped out your bloody, finish it off with the mix (classic or clamato), the rim (sea salt and pepper, Old Bay, or bacon salt), and the kick: tabasco, Worcestershire, Met sauce, horseradish, sriracha, or wasabi.

That’s certainly a whirlwind of decision making to do (especially whilst hungover, amirite), but I’m guessing Met staff will be on hand for some expert decisions. If you’re having a mini-cheeseburger-atop-your-Bloody-Mary type of Sunday, then you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Hangover Sunday, Boston!
