Charlotte Golar Richie’s campaign debuted a 31-second video Tuesday featuring Louis Gossett Jr, an Oscan-winning American actor.

“The past 20-years, I’ve worked at defeating racism of all kinds while developing a culture of equality and enrichment for all members or our society,” Gossett says while addressing the camera directly.

In 2006, Gossett founded the Eracism Foundation focused on ending “the systematic impacts of all forms of racism by providing programs that foster cultural diversity, historical enrichment, education, and antiviolence initiatives.”

Golar Richie is seen only in stills throughout the video, while Gossett urges people to vote for her as the next mayor of Boston because she “represents an agenda of openness, equality, and opportunity for all.”

Golar Richie’s first TV spot (bottom of page) debuted on Monday, according to the Boston Globe. It sounds like Gossett is the voiceover actor in that one, as well.

“In the race for mayor, 11 good men talk about building a better Boston. One woman has already done it,”  the announcer says.

According to the Boston Globe report, Golar Richie’s campaign bought $30,000 worth of airtime for 600 spots, scheduled to run from Monday, Sept. 16, until the Sept. 24 preliminary election.

The 60-second commercial will reportedly be shown on Boston channels including Bravo, CNN, VH1, Oxygen and NESN for Red Sox Games.

The TV spot shows images of Golar Richie with Mayor Tom Menino and President Barack Obama, and highlights achievements over her career, specifically referencing her work on Boston housing development.

“I know what it will take to lead Boston into the future because I helped shape the Boston of today,” Golar Richie says, addressing the audience directly.
