In the past two years, news about Google Glass development has been buzzing around the wearables world, while we as the general public have lacked access to the technology. With the exception of one day of open sales in April, and the now open beta Glass Explorers program, the highly anticipated wearable technology has been hard to come by, save a few lucky developers and eager tech enthusiasts. But all that is about to change: Starting on June 23, fashion sites Mr. Porter and Net-a-Porter will be selling packages of Google Glass to the masses.

This makes the online retailers the first-ever third-party sellers of Glass, for the cool price of $1,650. Each lucky buyer will get Glass, a frame, shade, mono earbud and a case.

That’s a little steeper than the $1,500 price tag it takes to get Glass as an official Glass Explorer, but that extra $150 might just be worth it if your life isn’t interesting enough to be recorded with Glass (Read: you’ll use it to scroll the web in your pajamas instead of unraveling 400 years of history.)

And here’s some more good news: Those tech-filled frames will be far from lame-looking, because glamorous, designer Glass has now become an option. Diane von Furstenberg has stepped up to take on the challenge of actually making a computer look somewhat socially acceptable while sitting on your face.

The line will feature five frame designs in eight different colors, ensuring you’ll never show up to a party with the same frames as someone else (we can only imagine the horror!). Google will reveal the full line June 4, and they’ll be available to buy on Mr. Porter and Net-a-Porter June 23.

So get those credit cards ready for when this sale hits the web, since there will only be a limited and undisclosed amount of the DVF designs sold. And as yet another release date approaches, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to freshen up on the do’s and don’t’s of using Glass. Trust us, no one wants to be a Glasshole.
