Making the rounds on tech blogs and rumor sites is a report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo which appears to detail what Google has in store for its flagship tablet, the Nexus 7, at its annual Google I/O developers conference next week. While much of the pre-event hype has been focused on Google’s curious new set of eye wear, simply called Google Glass, the Nexus 7 has flown stealthily under the radar. But not anymore. The next Google Nexus 7 Release Date is expected at Google I/O.

The latest version of the Nexus 7, which is assembled by ASUS, will grab eyes with its likely 7-inch LTPS display and 1920×1200 resolution. The device looks to be powered by Qualcomm’s impressive quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and will probably run on Android’s most updated version of Jelly Bean, 4.3. The tablet may sport two cameras as well, a 5mp rear-facing camera and an HD front-facing. NFC capabilities are included and a 4000mAh battery will feature QI wireless charging.

If all these apparent specs are correct, the next-generation Nexus 7 could outdo its predecessor which would be an impressive feat. The original Nexus 7 hit the ground running at last year’s I/O, debuting to high praise from critics, techies, and users alike. Sales here certainly bolstered by the price tag as well as the capability of the price itself, going for only $199 which is unlikely to change. Consider this: right now an iPad with Retina Display and 16GB of storage goes for $499 on its website. Whoa.

I can’t guarantee that the new Nexus 7 will be unveiled at the I/O next week, though considering the success last year and the timing of the report being leaked, I’d say its safe to bet that it will. If so, the next-gen gadget will be pegged for retail availability by late fall just in time for the holiday shopping season.
