Rejoice! The long-awaited Gracie’s Ice Cream shop is finally opening today in Somerville’s Union Square neighborhood, according to an email sent by the shop’s owner.

The ice cream shop experienced a false start earlier this November. But now (finally), the ice cream shop’s owners, Aaron Cohen and Ben Dryer, have announced that the doors will officially open at 3 p.m. today, November 24.

At the moment, Gracie’s menu features 12 ice cream flavors. But the shop notes that they will continue to create new flavors throughout the year. The shop also plans to debut their Swedish Apple Pie ice cream later this week and will add items like smoothies, frappes and ice cream sandwiches to their menu later down the road.

To celebrate Gracie’s Ice Cream opening, the shop is offering a pre-Thanksgiving special to patrons. Customers who buy two pints of ice cream before Thanksgiving will receive a free ice cream cone.

Gracie’s will be open 3 to 9 p.m. during the week and noon to 9 p.m. on weekends. If you go, Gracie’s Ice Cream is located at 22 Union Square in Somerville.
