Happy spring, everyone! If you can’t tell we’re pretty excited about warm weather and other signs of spring on the way. One of which happens to be the Red Sox opening day at Fenway Park. The first game of the season will be here before we know it – and it looks like patrons will now have another spot to eat nearby.

Boston Restaurant Talk reported today that Gyro City, “an authentic Greek grill,” has opened “in the Fenway’s ‘restaurant row’” area. More specifically, the restaurant is located at 88 Peterborough Street.

The tip came from a Facebook post by El Pelon Taqueria, which welcomed the restaurant to the neighborhood. The post stated:

“There’s a new and delicious food option in the Fenway. Welcome to restaurant row, Gyro City! So happy to welcome such friendly neighbors.”

Just some friendly competition, we suppose. So far, Gyro City seems to be getting nothing short of raving review by Yelp users. As you can see the diners have attested that the food consists of “tasty gyros in a variety of flavors, spanakopita, and great fries with feta. A stellar addition to the Fenway restaurant row!”

Along with the gyro praise, other diners complimented both their desserts and service. One diner stated, “Great traditional Greek gyros and homemade baklava which I haven’t had in such a long time. It also helps that the owners are such nice people sharing great Greek hospitality with their food!”

To read more about the Gyro City’s offering, check their website and start planning your baklava spring trip pronto.
