Harpoon Brewery’s annual St. Patrick’s Festival was this weekend, giving Bostonians across the city an excuse to grab their greenest outfits and sip craft beer in the middle of the afternoon (or evening, if you chose to attend on Friday night). Thousands of St. Patty’s Day enthusiasts flocked to the giant tents set up outside of the brewery in the Seaport District on this cloudy Saturday in order to celebrate the luck of the Irish with live music, live tweets, fried foods, and of course, Harpoon beer.

Guests who attended the festival from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday paid a $20 entry fee, which included not only admission but one drink ticket and one pint glass. A short trip through piled-high cases of assorted beer inside the brewery led to the actual festival. One main stage hosted several bands throughout the day–from a kilted, bagpiped, traditional Irish rock band, to a Howl at the Moon Dueling Piano set–and the spotlights cast orange and green over a thick crowd of fans as the evening went on.

Attendants could also tweet at @harpoon_brewery with the hashtag ‘harpoonstpatsday’ in order to have their tweets displayed on the big screen in the center of the festival. Between buying beer tickets–available drinks were Harpoon’s IPA, Black IPA, White IPA, Rye IPA, White UFO, Cider, Director’s Cut, and Celtic Red–and waiting in line for a hot dog or fried dough from one of the food vendors, the Harpoon St. Patrick’s Festival brought together the people of Boston who aren’t afraid to let loose in honor of Ireland’s greatest holiday.
