At approximately 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, Harvard University announced on its Emergency webpage that it had received unconfirmed reports of explosives at four sites on campus: Science Center, Thayer, Sever, and Emerson. What’s unconfirmed is whether or not there are actually explosives on campus or these particular sites, but the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) and Cambridge Police are on the scene investigating.
After nearly 6 hours, all four buildings under threat have been cleared by the proper authorities.
HUPD first caught wind of the threat via an email sent anonymously to its office. The Massachusetts State Police, along with Cambridge PD and the bomb squad responded directly to HUPD though they have yet to confirm any details.
Stay tuned to BostInno’s live blog below with constant updates from the various law enforcement officials and authorities currently on the scene at Harvard.
