We don’t hide our obsession with open education and e-learning, from our continued coverage of MIT’s OpenCourseWare to Berklee College of Music’s recent world record for hosting the world’s largest online guitar lesson. And today Harvard is making news for their new online education portal for managers and business leaders across the globe.

Harvard Business Review has announced the launch of Harvard ManageMentor, a subscription-based online learning platform giving individuals across the globe access to Harvard faculty and management expertise.

Based on Harvard Business Publishing’s online support tool used by over a thousand corporations across the globe, Harvard ManageMentor aims to deliver advice to individuals around the day-to-day, practical challenges faced in the workplace.

“We hear from our customers that trustworthy and actionable advice is what they need most,” said Paul Michelman, Director of Product Development for the Harvard Business Review Group. “We offer the best advice, curated for that time-strapped manager or leader who needs quick access to the right answers. The accessibility of this desktop tool combined with first-rate content is an invaluable addition to the world of online learning.”

The online lessons, or ‘module’ as HBR calls them, include different media to convey knowledge – no matter how you learn best. Each module focuses on honing your business and management skills – be it negotiating a contract or making a presentation. Each of the 44 ManageMentor modules includes interactive exercises, expert commentary from HBS faculty and other business leaders, real-life examples, downloadable tools and templates, and more.

Subscriptions are priced as follows (corporate licenses are also available), and you can currently enjoy 20% off online:

  • Full access—a one-year single user license to all 44 learning modules; $399.95 per year.
  • Skill packs—three to four related modules to be used as building blocks to developing specific expertise and skills; $99.95 per year.
  • Single modules—a la carte single modules offering solutions to single, big issues; $39.95 per year.

Harvard Business Review’s unique offering to managers at all levels is our deep library of content from the world’s best business thinkers and practitioners,” says Joshua Macht, Harvard Business Review Group Publisher. “With this tool, these ideas are at the fingertips of the people who need them most: professionals on the front lines of business.
