Two CEO changes from the past week at local venture-backed companies. And HubSpot hired a well known journalist to join its in house content team.

Mark Terenzoni Named CEO of Big Data Company, Sqrrl

sqrrl, founded by former NSA employees, raised money from Atlas back in August. Co-founder Oren Falkowitz appears to have left the CEO role at least a couple months ago. Terenzoni joins the company from an SVP role at F5 Networks.

HubSpot adds seasoned journalist and ReadWrite editor Dan Lyons

Lyons cited disinterest in telecommuting as his reason for leaving ReadWrite. HubSpot is ramping up its in house content production big time, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it snatching up more journalists. Beyond HubSpot, the trend of former journalists moving into content marketing is likely to accelerate.

Flybridge-backed Sample6 Gets a New CEO

Sample6 Technologies, the developer of the world’s fist synthetic biology-based, “enrichment-free” bacterial monitoring platform, has appointed Tim Curran as Chief Executive Officer. Curran has an over 20 year record of success leading technology companies, including as CEO of Vela Systems, which he led to an acquisition by Autodesk in 2012. Previously, he was CEO of Eleven Technologies which was acquired by Trimble Navigation in 2006.
