Police have charged a homeless man with stealing a red aircraft warning beacon from the top of the Zakim Bridge.

Yes: Clifford Beckford Jr., 34, allegedy busted through a locked door, scaled a ladder to the top of one of the Zakim’s towers, and stole a 3-foot-tall, 60-pound light.

According to the AP, the light was later found in the basement of a Charlestown bar. The manager of the bar says an employee found it in the snow and brought it inside.

Beckford’s arraignment was held Wednesday. He faces a slew of charges, including breaking and entering, and has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force were involved in the early stages of the investigation until authorities determined Beckford’s alleged heist had nothing to do with terrorism.
