With all of the colorful fall foliage surrounding Boston at the moment (and in the weeks to come), there is little need for that Instagram filter. After all, there’s something terribly wrong with your camera if you have to “Lo Fi” while leaf peeping. The vibrant reds, oranges and yellows this autumn in Boston should be enough to ensure a fabulous picture.

But what do you do with this perfect photo? Your artistic skills certainly deserve some sort of award and recognition in the Boston area. Don’t worry because The Boston Calendar has you covered.

The team will be accepting pictures of “autumnal scenes around Boston” snapped by Bostonians and submitted onto their Facebook page. The contest officially started yesterday and lasts through November 20 – plenty of time to snap that perfect shot. Once you submit your picture to The Boston Calendar Facebook, friends can “Like” whichever picture they choose. The leaf peeping photographer with the most “Likes” on Facebook will receive a prize including “tickets to concerts, gift certificates to Boston’s top restaurants, etc.”

The photo must be your own (any format – iPhone, D5, etc.). The Facebook page posted (below) is the first winning prize, a $25 gift certificate for Cafe Fixe in Brookline. You may have missed out on this opportunity but there will be plenty in the future. In the meantime start your fall photo shoot soon.
