July 4th may have come and gone – sigh – but there’s still plenty of summer left to be celebrated this year. And in order to make the most of weekend trips and afternoon barbecues, you’ll want to look good doing it, right? Well then we’ve got great news: Boston’s luxury department store, Louis, is hosting its annual summer sale starting this Wednesday, July 9, offering up to 40 percent off of this season’s must-haves.

While, generally, most of us with little things called “budgets” are left to simply lust after the designer wear found inside Louis’ waterfront industrial walls, this sale knocks the prices down from out-of-this-world to slightly-maybe-justifiable. Not only is Louis a local institution, established in the late 1800s, it’s also a world-renowned store: Beyonce and Jay Z were spotted shopping there while in town last year. Whether you actually plan to purchase something this week, or just want to stalk the same racks that Bey and Jay once perused, we recommend giving this sale a spin. You just might leave with your new favorite wardrobe staple you never knew you could afford.

Notable brands available at Louis include Balenciaga, Jonathan Saunders, Public School and Jason Wu. In addition to men’s and women’s clothing, they offer accessories, beauty products and perfumes, and home goods, in case you feel like your current duvet cover wasn’t fabulous enough.

Care to shop? Louis is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The summer sale will go on while supplies last.
