On September 21 Bostonians will hop on their two-wheelers, pedal down roadways and highways with unprecedented access, and explore the streets of Boston for the 10th annual Hub On Wheels ride. Registration to participate in one of the three races opens up on September 10.

Hub On Wheels affords cycling enthusiasts and anyone willing to hop on a bike a perspective of Boston they’re not normally accustomed to. Imagine cruising down Storrow Drive sans the angst that typically accompanies riding next to cars on a narrow, winding road; imagine trekking through a historic neighborhood often inaccessible via public transportation; imagine enjoying breathtaking harbor views alongside some of your best biking buddies.

Those are exactly the kinds of routes participants will be able to enjoy during Hub On Wheels.

There will be three options upon registering:  a 10-mile, 30-mile and 50-mile route. The only rule is that cyclists must be 10 years or older to ride the 10-mile loop, and 12 years or older to ride the other two. According to Boston Bikes, “Children under 10 ride for free and may participate only if riding with an adult on a tandem, trail-a-bike, bike seat or trailer.”

Hopefuls can register for Hub On Wheels right here for a cool $50. If for whatever reason you’re unable to sign up online, fret not. There will be an on-site registration table available though it’ll run you an extra $5.

Even better, if you don’t have a bike of your own and still want to join in on all of the fun, you can reserve a bike by contacting the official Hub On Wheels bike rental partner, Urban Adventours.

So sign up now and plan accordingly. Rides begin at 8 a.m. at City Hall plaza on September 21.
