We never thought we’d say this but it looks as though City Hall Plaza may be the new hot spot this season! Winter’s Landing, a new city centerpiece for upcoming events, will debut at City Hall Plaza sometime soon, offering Bostonians all sorts of new events and attractions this winter.

One of which will be The Polar Bar, a “20,000 square foot, full service restaurant and lounge that is the epicenter of hospitality for Winter’s Landing,” notes a Craigslist job posting.

According to the posting, the new City Hall Plaza bar will be a two-story structure featuring “contemporary, modern and chic design including 46 foot ceilings and 360 degree glass walls, all overlooking the Frozen Harbor skating rink.” The Polar Bar will be open seven days a week.

While we don’t have an exact opening date for Winter’s Landing or The Polar Bar, we can tell you that it should open in the near future. The Facebook page claims that “the doors will soon open to the first ice on the Winter’s Landing skating rink, first parties and dinners in the restaurant, and the first of several special holiday programs.”

In addition to The Polar Bar, Bostonians can expect a full calendar of programming and events, a Frozen Harbor, and an Olympic size ice skating rink. According to the event’s Facebook page, a rendering will be released soon. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we learn more.

[Update: The Craigslist job posting has disappeared leaving questions about whether The Polar Bar will really happen. The Boston Globe also reports that Winter’s Landing hasn’t yet secured the necessary permits needed to launch on City Hall Plaza. Read more updates here.]
