Ashland Mass based IdeaPaint has just announced today that its “HOME” product is now available at all 1,750 Lowe’s stores in the United States and on Lowes.com to bring the innovation to customers nationwide. IdeaPaint’s innovative dry-erase paint products transform literally any smooth surface into a borderless, durable, dry-erase canvas.

IdeaPaint has been on a roll since it’s launch in 2008 and is now distributing dry-erase paint to over 23 countries. Just last month they added a new $5 million round of funding to cover the company’s last quarter of operating at a loss and bring the company profitable. Ideapaint had previously raised $10 million in funding from Breakaway Ventures and Fireman Capital Partners – $5M in November of ’08, $3.3M in February of ’10 and $1.87 in July of ’10.

About a year ago today IdeaPaint announced a trial partnership with Lowe’s to bring the paint to 365 stores. It is clear that the first go ’round was successful as Lowe’s is now carrying it in every store.

“Lowe’s commitment to delivering innovative products is exemplified by our expanding relationship with IdeaPaint to bring a fun and exciting paint project to all of our consumers nationwide,” said Karena Bailey, Lowe’s vice president of merchandising. “IdeaPaint offers our customers an innovative paint solution for home organization and décor, and the product‘s ease of use and durability allows kids of all ages to express their creativity in not only the children’s rooms but across the entire home.”

With this Lowes partnership, it is clear IdeaPaint has succeeded in disrupting the dry-erase market. How long until the norm is writing on all surfaces from desks, to walls, and even your bed frames? Congratulations to the IdeaPaint team for this incredible milestone!
