The fun, innovative, newsy stuff happening right around you.

Hi gang, hope y’all are having a dandy morning. Like most things in life, ITK is more fun when shared with friends, so pass this sign-up link to your crew – and also write to us so we know what topics you’d like to read about every morning.

Alright, let’s jump in..

#MeToo Impact: The #MeToo movement, originally started by Tarana Burke in 2006, went viral on social media in October 2017. Since then, its impact has been quantifiable and measured. The movement’s impact trickled down to other aspects of corporate America — like hiring.

New data from a Boston-based recruitment marketplace found a 41 percent spike in the number of women hired for executive roles paying more than $100K a year. The study also focused on the pay gap between women and men in different sectors, founding a 22 percent pay gap across job roles in engineering, human resources, clinical jobs, sales, administration and marketing. While the average salary earned by men was $110K, for women it was $90K. Read more: Is The #MeToo Movement Helping Women Get Better Jobs?

The State of the State’s 2019 Economy: If you’ve been reading all things rosy about the booming economy of Massachusetts, make sure you bookmark it for posterity.

Economist and executive director of the Public Policy Center at UMass DartmouthMichael Goodman thinks we have one more year of boom before the state economy flatlines. He expects 2019 to see some slowdown as federal tax cuts fade and the labor market tightens. Read: Economist predicts one more year of growth in Mass.

Get Wrapped: … But let the future you worry about next year’s potential problems like a recession. For now, indulge in some holiday funsies and let JetBlue wrap you up as a holiday gift (literally) and ship you home to your family.

It’s Go Get Gifted contest will pick five winners to be wrapped up as holiday presents by gift wrapping them from head to toe and flying them home to the ones they love on 12/24. Your picks for wrapping techniques are the mummy, a burrito and a box.
