End of an Era? It may as well be.
After serving traditional Yankee fare, like chicken wings, shrimp scampi and scallops wrapped in bacon for almost 200 years, landmark Boston restaurant, Durgin Park, will bid the community adieu on Jan. 12. Located in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the restaurant opened in 1827 and was renamed after the owners, John Durgin and Eldridge Park, in 1877. As one Yelp reviewer wrote, “Step back in time and eat and drink where your parents, grandparents and quite possibly your great-grandparents dined. You won’t be disappointed!” Beware of the “surly staff” though.

A Second Empire townhouse on 26 Holyoke St. was listed as the neighborhood’s highest-priced single family home. What does $6.6 million buy you? Five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, Parisian tile flooring and – wait for it – seven fireplaces! Yes, you heard that right. Take a tour here.
