At BostInnovation, we’re proud to support a mobile ecosystem here in Boston that is second to none. We write about mobile companies early and often, count two CEO’s of mobile companies on our advisory board, and share a passion for building the next generation of mobile technology right here in Boston. (Not to mention our smartphones are some of our most powerful tools as journalists!)

We recently worked with area mobile leaders to construct the first iteration of a mobile resource guide for those looking to understand just how dynamic the mobile ecosystem is here. The page is designed to be a resource for those looking for information about Boston’s mobile sector. Whether you’re new to the community, thinking about relocating here, or simply want to get a better grasp of who’s who around town, look no further.

The first task at hand was compiling a list of mobile companies that represent Boston. From hardware to software to advertising and marketing, Boston companies touch every aspect critical to the future of mobile. The companies listed represent a large portion of Boston’s mobile population, but it remains a work in progress as new companies are spawned almost every day. Each company listed links to a dedicated organization profile page. Many companies, like AisleBuyer for example, have already populated their profiles by simply entering the URL to their company’s LinkedIn or CrunchBase profiles. (Learn more here.)

On top of this, we are featuring quotes from area mobile CEOs speaking to why they have chosen Boston to build their companies. One of our favorites from MocoSpace founder and CEO, Justin Siegel:

“Most people don’t realize that we didn’t start MocoSpace in Massachusetts. We moved the company to Boston because of the amazing opportunities to build a business in a great ecosystem. We have not been disappointed. The investors we have, the team we’ve built, the partnerships we enjoy are largely thanks to being in a very dynamic environment.”

Moving forward we will be growing this resource, and including more community features. If you are a mobile company in Boston, we encourage you to join the community and, as always, let us know what’s new!

Thank you to WHERE and the Mass Technology Leadership Council for helping make this resource guide possible.
