As the iPhone 5S release date looms ever closer, the likelihood of seeing leaked photos and specs perpetually increases. Today is no exception as 9to5mac got its hands on two production line photos of the next-gen iPhone 5S courtesy of Chinese tech blog Experview. The good news for the Apple faithful is that the latest photos coincide with previous rumors, though a question mark still lingers on whether Apple will ship a full freight worth of handsets in time for its purported September release.

The photos and text on Experview suggest the iPhone 5S will be equipped with a 4-inch 1136×640 IGZO display, a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera, a dual LED flash, fingerprint technology, NFC, and 2GB of memory.

A 4-inch display by Apple on its flagship handsets is customary so that particular rumor can be considered near-fact, as well as what appears to be its signature anodized aluminum backplate. Similar leaked production photos from a previous source back in late June correspondingly pointed to a 12MP rear shooter with dual LED flash as Apple looks to make an attempt to compete with the likes of Nokia in the emerging smartphone photo tech market.

An increase from 1GB of memory to 2GB will be a big step forward as it would increase multitasking abilities and seamless transitioning, something the Cupertino-based company heralded back at WWDC. This further explains the supposed increase in battery size and subsequent lifespan.

The supposed fingerprint scanner is a hot-button topic for Apple as of late as that sole aspect seems to be responsible for gossip that Apple will have to ship a constrained, diminished haul of iPhone 5S devices in order to hit its alleged September target release date.

What really makes me raise an eyebrow with this new set of leaked photos and specs is the idea of NFC capabilities included in an iOS 7 device. At Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, the electronics conglomerate championed its new AirDrop feature which appears to be its tailor-made answer to NFC. AirDrop shows users which of his or her friends are in close proximity and makes it easy to share anything–photos, articles, documents, social media, etc.–with multiple friends at once. It will also have  encrypted peer-to-peer Wi-Fi for maximum security.
