Everyone’s favorite airline, JetBlue, is experience a tail-spinning makeover, at least on its tailfin. We’re all familiar with the joys of flying JetBlue — thanks to the comfortable and spacious seating, in-flight entertainment, and friendly customer service. The awesome plane food doesn’t hurt either. Not to mention, that the leading flight carrier’s advertising company, Mullen, is based right here in Boston.

Arriving right behind JetBlue’s new advertising campaign,“Air on the Side of Humanity,” is a new look for the airline’s Airbus A321 aircraft. According to a release, JetBlue Airways “plans to debut the latest tailfin design, Prism,” which I’m pretty sure art lovers everywhere will especially appreciate.

Why? Because the latest tailfin design Prism, is “inspired by the Cubist art movement of the early 20th Century.” The avant-garde movement was spearheaded by the likes of Pablo Picasso (you may have heard of him). The release states “the Cubist movement was revolutionary in its time, interpreting reality into two-dimensions on canvas…” and as JetBlue Brand Design Manager, Lashonne Duncan, explains “that’s how JetBlue looks at the world.” A great new move in my opinion, as it seems the innovative airline company continues to differentiate itself in the market with their superior customer service and unique aesthetics.

The design will be joining JetBlue’s always interesting design palette and should be on the runways soon.
