It’s election year, and you’ve undoubtedly heard this phrase a million and one times by now: “If so-and-so wins the election, I’m moving to Canada!” Now, thanks to JetBlue, customers can win free flights to out of the country if their politician of choice doesn’t win the election on November 6th. Through the airline’s Election Protection, users sign up, select their choice for president, and are entered to win a free roundtrip ticket to one of the JetBlue’s 21 international destinations if their candidate doesn’t win the election.

When you sign up, you’re asked to cast your virtual vote for the presidential candidate of your choice as well as a vacation destination of your choice, including Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, St. Maarten, St. Lucia and Turks & Caicos. The results are tallied on a real-time heat map, and are combined with tools that track social media buzz around the campaign.

“Fun is one of our five founding values, and in this spirit we decided to give people a chance to recover from the political noise and follow through on their claim to skip town if their candidate comes up short,” said Marty St. George, senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy for JetBlue, in a press release.

Local ad agency Mullen is behind the Election Protection promotion.

The Election Protection campaign runs through November 5th, and after the presidential results are in, JetBlue will dole out 1,006 free roundtrip certificates to participants whose candidate lost the race. So even if you don’t agree with the next president’s politics, you can still enjoy the fact that American companies can still give away free stuff like flights.
