Boston singles looking for someone to spend this Valentine’s Day with may be lucky in love.

According to a survey released by online finance site NerdWallet, Boston ranks as the number one city in the nation for singles.

The rankings were based on the percentage of the population that was unmarried, the number of eateries and gyms per 1,000 residents, walkability, unemployment rate and cheapness of a date (which was determined by the cost of two movie tickets, a 12-inch pie from Pizza Hut, and 1.5 liter bottle of cheap vino).

While Boston didn’t have as many bars and restaurants as other cities on the list, it is very accessible, boasting the third highest walking score in the nation. High walkability raises the chance that you may meet that special someone while you’re out and about. And if you choose to ask them on a date, it will be affordable: Boston’s “cheap date” is the cheapest in the nation, coming in at $31. Include the charm, history and multitude of free and affordable museums, and Boston seems to be a pretty great place to be single.

However, the Hub dropped slightly in the rankings when it came to single men. Last year, Boston was ranked as the number one city for single men, but this year, it comes in second behind New York.

And sadly, while Boston was ranked ninth for single women last year, this year it didn’t even make the list.

So if you’re a guy, cupid is on your side this season. And even if you won’t be spending Valentine’s Day with that special someone you met while walking through the Boston Common, take comfort in knowing that you can treat yourself to the nation’s most affordable dinner and a movie.
