The month of October was nothing short of a whirlwind for Phoebe Farber, founder and CEO of Prospective Plus.

Phoebe has been traveling across the country this fall to help secure her venture’s position as the go-to common job application. The service allows applicants to upload a resume, common job application, references page, and “culture fit” component that allows recruiters and employers to better evaluate applicants.

At the beginning of October, Phoebe traveled to Santa Clara, California for Demo Day 2012 to officially launch her service- the common job application. There were over 1,000 attendees at the event, which served as a launch pad for emerging technologies. Phoebe was one of seven students selected and sponsored by Microsoft Bizspark to deliver a 90-second pitch on behalf of their student-run venture.

“It was exciting for us to launch in Silicon Valley of all places,” Phoebe explained. “I met some cool startups, as well as potential customers and investors. I’m looking forward to staying in touch with some key people in the coming months.”

After her successes on the West Coast, Phoebe presented at the Boston New Tech Meetup on October 16. These monthly meetings allow ventures the opportunity to share their product or service with members of the Boston startup community. A video of Phoebe’s presentation can be found here.

The very next day, October 17, Prospective Plus appeared at NEXPO, Northeastern’s Entrepreneurship Expo. The event was sponsored by IDEA and provided ventures like Prospective Plus the opportunity to showcase their work to students, faculty, investors, and members of the Greater Boston entrepreneurial community.

To cap off the month, Phoebe also competed for a spot in the FutureM Boston Angel Investor Shark Tank.

Next up for Prospective Plus is finalizing the beta side for applicants and employers. Once these have been completed, Phoebe will begin heavily marketing the service to Boston area schools including Northeastern, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Boston University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. She is also working to recruit talent to join her team. And, like most ventures, Prospective Plus is actively seeking funding to help cover legal costs and further catalyze development.

Phoebe hopes to start off 2013 even closer to her goal of establishing Prospective Plus as the common job application. “In the spring, we’d love to see lots of people who are about to graduate applying to positions through our service,” Phoebe explained. “And of course,” she continues, “companies relying on the site when hiring new employees.”

If her activity in October is any indication of what’s to come, we can expect to see a lot more of Phoebe and the entire Prospective Plus team throughout the coming months. If you are interested in becoming a part of this rockstar team, email Phoebe here.
