Kevin Garnett will play for the Brooklyn Nets this season, so there’s really no need for him to own property in the Greater Boston area.

The former Celtic has placed his Concord home on the market for $4.85 million, the Boston Business Journal reports. (Click here for BBJ slideshow)

The home, a 16-room, 11,000-square-foot contemporary structure sits on nearly 13 acres of land.

Garnett purchased the home in 2007 after being shipped over from the Minnesota Timberwolves. At the time, he and his wife bought the Concord residence for $4.62 million. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage assessed the property, currently valued at $3.98 million.

The MLS property Information Network says it’s “fit for a champion.”

The home includes five bedrooms, including a master bedroom, separate dressing room, and a custom-finished kitchen, surrounded by a wall of windows.

Architects from Boston-based firm Machado and Silvetti Associates designed the ex-Celtic power forward’s abode.

KG was packaged along with Paul Pierce and Jason Terry in June prior to the NBA’s draft for a slew of future draft picks and less than stellar NBA-ers, including Kris Humphries and Keith Bogans.

Maybe Celts’ rookie Kelly Olynyk is interested in this location?
