Lindsay Lohan went on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, technically to promote Scary Movie 5, which I guess is what she was in recently. Anyway, she visited Letterman under this flimsy premise, but what ended up happening was much different than what you might expect upon first hearing about any story related to Lindsay Lohan.

Check out Lohan’s full interview from last night’s Late Show with David Letterman, and see what you think. Do you have a soft spot for LinzLo? Should I not call her LinzLo?

Yes, the girl was recently sentenced to three months in rehab as part of the plea deal that resulted from her misdemeanor traffic accident case. Nothing surprising there. And naturally, David Letterman doesn’t waste any time at all before taking his first dig at her latest upcoming stint at a facility. What is unusual is just how well Lindsay handled the whole thing. She seriously didn’t even seem a little bit drunk.

But even more than that, she was able to laugh at herself and crack her own jokes right alongside Letterman, while still knowing when to remain serious, address that her troubles aren’t funny, and keep control of the interview. On top of all that, she looked impressively good–her hair is back to its natural red shade, and her two-piece dress was both mature and hot. Honestly, when was the last time she’s come out this on top in any news story? …Probably back in the days of Mean Girls promos. Not grool, Lindsay. Not grool.

After Letterman starts lobbing hardballs (asking her if she has an addiction problem and if she drinks too much), Lindsay makes it known that these questions weren’t part of the pre-interview. Still, when Letterman pulls out a sheet of previous jokes he’s made at her expense on the show, Lindsay laughs as hard as the audience.

“Lindsay Lohan was on the Today Show this morning,” Letterman reads. “The appearance went well, only one camera is missing,” to which Lindsay lightheartedly replies, “That would be a lot for me to carry I think.”

In more serious moments, Lohan addresses that she’s been through a lot, that it’s not something to joke about, and that she’s viewing her upcoming time in rehab as a “blessing.” She even tears up a little when Letterman demonstrates his support for her. Basically, overall, she just seemed like a normal, down-to-earth person.

Ah, but wait. Late that same night, the paparazzi snapped some photos of her leaving 1-Oak, a club in NYC. And all’s right with the world again.
