Tonight at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, country singer Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert will headline the ‘Healing in the Heartland’ concert tonight to help raise money for the United Way of CentralOklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund. $25 tickets to the show held in Oklahoma’s capital city just miles from devastated Moore, OK went on sale Saturday and sold out within 5 minutes. The Shelton/Lambert due performed on The Voice where Shelton sits as a coach in the American Idol-like singing competition. Fellow coach Usher will perform at the concert tonight.

The concert’s impressive lineup reflects the desire to aid those still in need, featuring the likes of Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Usher, Rascal Flatts, and my boy Darius Rucker.

Shelton is actually an Oklahoma native having hosted and participated in similar benefit concerts in the past, such as ‘Tornado Relief Concerts’ for victims affected by the Atoka County tornadoes back in 2011. Shelton hosted the event with Reba McEntire and raised approximately $500,000 for the victims.

Coverage of the event will take place on all NBC networks at 9pm ET tonight. Unfortunately for those in attendance, more severe weather warnings are being issued throughout the Midwest, even some in Moore. This is unlikely to deter and concert-goers, though, as the unwavering support for those affected by the sad and surreal tragedy has been substantial.

Shelton told Oklahoma’s KFOR-TV, “Everyone has their way to help and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy. This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero.”

A limited number of set-aside tickets were made available this morning for Oklahoma residents only. They’ve since sold out as well.
