Due to the ongoing snowfall and inclement weather, hundreds of flights out of Logan Airport have been canceled. Massport is urging everyone with a flight scheduled Monday to check their airline’s status online.

Massport spokeswoman Jennifer Mehigan told BostInno that as of 6 p.m. Sunday night, 430 had already been canceled. It’s important to note that this is not at the discretion of Logan, but of individual airlines.

“We expect there to be few if any flights in or out of Logan tomorrow,” said Mehigan. “But again passengers need to check with their airline for flight status and info on any changes or accommodations.”

The brunt of the snow is expected to last into Monday night though Logan will remain open during that time. Crews are working tirelessly to keep the East Boston airfield open barring any hazardous snow removal conditions.

Comparatively, the MBTA is having a much more difficult time faring the winter weather. A shortage of usable subway cars, power outages caused by the cold and piles upon piles of snow have caused crippling delays extending back several weeks.

According to the National Weather Service, by 7 a.m. this morning snow fall accumulation totals at Logan had already reached 12 inches. Greater Boston is expected to get about 24 inches by the storm’s end.
