After several airlines canceled their flights in and out of Boston, Logan Airport is expected to resume operations on Tuesday. Crews worked around the clock and through the night to ensure the airfield would be clear.

Though flight cancelations are the prerogative of the respective airlines, Massport is reporting that they’re expecting things to get back to normal. On Monday, due to the snow, about 70 percent of flights were canceled.

According to Massport, the following measures are being taken:

  • The four suburban Logan Express parking sites and bus service will be operating on schedule tomorrow, as it was today;
  • All Logan Express sites will be free for tenant and airline employees;
  • The Back Bay Logan Express and the Silver Line will also be available for customers wanting to head to the airport from Boston;
  • We continue to advise passengers to check flight status with their airline or www.massport.com.

While Logan gets back on its feet, the MBTA, conversely, is struggling to maintain functionality. All subway, trolley and commuter rail service is suspended Tuesday as the transit authority attempts to clear the snow from its tracks and perform the necessary maintenance in hopes of resuming its operations on Wednesday.

The MBTA has experienced delays, malfunctions and power outages consistently since Boston began being pummeled with snow at the end of January.
