Boot-cut jeans? They’re the old standby. But guys, the time has come for you to step into new denim territory. By which we mean narrow-leg jeans. (Don’t worry, we’re not trying to lure you into boy-band skinnies.) Here are some fit and style tips to set you off in the right direction.

Tip #1: Less is more. Begin your narrow-leg journey with a staple – the solid dark rinse.

Tip #2: When it comes to fit, go lean through the thigh and straight through the calf. These jeans should never be skintight.

Tip #3: Draw some attention to your shoes by turning up the hem two times to make a clean cuff.

Tip #4: The right cut is smooth at the zipper. No bunching or sagging.

Tip #5: The back should skim your rear (you want to show off what all those squats are doing for you), but not hug too snugly.
