You already know Lupita Nyong’o from her Oscar-winning performance in 12 Years a Slave and her spot-on red-carpet style. And, now? You’ll be seeing her grace the cover of Vogue, too.

For her July 2014 cover shoot, the actress traveled to Marrakesh, Morocco where she was photographed by Mikael Jansson in everything from Prada and Rodarte to Proenza Schouler and Jonathan Saunders. In the accompanying interview, the 31-year-old star talks about her sudden rise to fame, saying, “It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life. People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me – before I recognized them!”

Now, this is one cover girl I can get behind.
