Mayor Marty Walsh, a noted New England Patriots season ticket holder, will be sending off the Pats in style on Monday, Jan. 26. for what the region hopes will be their fourth Super Bowl victory.

The mayor announced that he’ll be throwing a send-off rally on City Hall Plaza at 11 a.m.

Both Robert and Jonathan Kraft will be on hand, as well as head coach Bill Belichick and team captains Tom Brady (quarterback), Vince Wilfork (defensive tackle), Devin McCourty (safety) and Matthew Slater (special teams). The group will address the fans.

Pat the Patriot will also be in attendance partying with fans. Patriots announcer John Rooke will play emcee and the New England Patriots cheerleaders will put on a performance.

Superbowl XLIX is being held in Glendale, Arizona.

“I am thrilled to host our conference champion New England Patriots at City Hall to rally before we send them off to another Super Bowl,” said Mayor Walsh in a statement. “This is an exciting time for Boston, and I remind all fans to celebrate responsibly and make our City proud.”

It’s an interesting time for the Patriots, who on Sunday snagged their eighth AFC Championship over the Indianapolis Colts. The team stands accused of deflating 11 of 12 game balls used in the blowout, though officials are required to examine the balls at least two hours beforehand.

City Hall Plaza, on the other hand, is being used liberally for larger-scale events as of late. Recently, Mayor Walsh put out a call for designers, planners and residents alike to re-imagine the seven-acre space referred to by some as a brick wasteland.

But he’s also made the plaza the site of winter food trucks, a Donna Summer roller disco party, two World Cup watch parties and Boston Calling through 2017.
