Everything is awesome over at the MBTA, well at least according to K. Adam White over at Bocoup.  White has developed a new app, MBTAwesome, to track the T in real time and report any alerts or delays. White launched the mobile transit web app on February 21, joining a growing list of apps geared towards easing your T woes.

Apps like Greenline, MBTA Ninja and DELAID have been introduced recently to combat the ills of commuting. MBTAwesome likewise offers users the chance to track how long it will take for the T to arrive and what the average wait time is. Currently, the Blue, Orange and Red Lines have complete information while Green Line real-time predictions are not available yet (though system alerts are).

With the freakish amount of snow that hit Boston, commuters were often frustrated—to say the least—with the T. Hopefully, with the genesis of these apps, Bostonians will have more control over their commute. The app is not yet available on either of the Apple or Android stores but is accessible on the mobile web. MBTAwesome offers one more aspect to your commute: a sense of optimism. I don’t know how many people will start calling their morning commutes “awesome” but it’s a start.
