The MBTA announced it will provide enhanced levels of service before and after this year’s running of the Boston Marathon, and that events scheduled for the weekend before the race will detour multiple bus routes in and out of Copley Square.

Copley Station will be closed on Marathon Monday, April 20. No service will be available out of fellow Green Line stops South Street, Kent Street, and St. Mary’s between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. the day of the race. The Berkeley Street entrance/exit of Arlington Station on the Green Line will remain closed during the race, and the B branch of the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street will be “exit only.”

Red, Orange, Green, and Blue Lines, as all commuter rail lines, will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Rush-hour levels of service will be put in place before and after the Marathon across all subway lines.

The Silver Line will also provide regular weekday trips, except for the SL5. With Tremont Street due to shut down between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. Marathon Monday, SL5 service between Downtown Crossing and Temple Street will terminate at Avenue De Lafayette. No service will run in or out of Temple Place or Tremont Street between Park and Boylston Streets. Passengers looking for bus connections may use Chinatown or Tufts Medical Center Stations on Washington Street.

Several bus routes will be impacted by scheduled Marathon-related events beginning on Saturday, April 18 and lasting through Patriot’s Day.

Detours will be in place for route 9, 39, 55 buses on Saturday and Sunday; and 43 buses will terminate at Tremont and Stuart Streets from roughly 5 a.m. to 12 p.m on Saturday. During the Marathon, the following bus routes will be impacted by detours at various times throughout the day: 8, 9, 10, 39, 43, 47, 57, 59, 60, 65, 66, 86, 502, 504, and SL5 (Silver Line).

Kenmore Station bus service will also be disrupted on Marathon Monday; riders can make necessary connections at Brookline Avenue, Pilgrim Road, or Brookline Avenue and the Fenway.

The T’s Hingham, Hull and Charlestown boat services will operate regular weekday schedules.

Regular weekday RIDE services will also be offered.
