Governor Charlie Baker met with Keolis officials on Thursday to discuss the status of MBTA commuter rail operations in the aftermath of historic snowfall in the Boston area.

Full commuter rail service is not expected to be restored until March 30, Keolis International CEO Bernard Tabary said in a statement, adding: “We will do everything we can to accelerate that process, and have brought experts in from around the world to support this effort.”

Tabary issued an apology to commuter rail passengers, and promised Gov. Baker his “personal commitment that [Keolis] won’t rest until MBTA Commuter Rail is once again operating as it should.”

Here’s Tabary’s full statement:

We had a very constructive meeting with Governor Baker, Secretary Pollack and Chief of Staff Steven Kadish this morning about our plan to bring MBTA Commuter Rail service back to full service. Under the plan that was approved by the Governor, the system will be operating at 78 percent passenger capacity by tomorrow and at full service by March 30. We will do everything we can to accelerate that process, and have brought experts in from around the world to support this effort. We’ll be working hard to keep passengers informed during this recovery period as we work to rebuild their trust. We feel confident about this plan and were pleased to receive the governor’s endorsement of our strategy. He did a deep dive into the recovery plan and asked tough questions. We appreciate his support and the support of his team.

To our passengers, we know this has been an incredibly frustrating time. You have endured cancelled or delayed trains, information snafus, and mechanical issues like doors that don’t open. We know you’ve waited on cold platforms and been late to work or had a difficult time getting home at night. We know we haven’t performed up to the high standards you have a right to demand—and that we demand of ourselves. On behalf of the entire Keolis team, I want to express our sincere apologies. We are dedicated to providing our passengers on the MBTA Commuter Rail System with outstanding service each and every day. In recent weeks, we have fallen short of that goal. I give him my personal commitment that we won’t rest until MBTA Commuter Rail is once again operating as it should.
