Update: Mr. President, we can’t. Seriously, the Blue Line? Really? That’s just adding insult to injury. Make it quick.

Earlier: Monday morning Red Line delays aren’t out of the ordinary, but some are more memorable than others. Case in point: a delay caused by President Barack Obama’s motorcade.

In Boston to attend the dedication ceremony of the 68,000-square-foot Edward M. Kennedy Institute, the president inadvertently added himself to the long list of things – most notably, snow and old age – to hold up the MBTA’s daily operations.

Yeah, the POTUS’s vehicular entourage caused “minor” Red Line – wait… scratch that, “moderate” delays:

Right, like we said, President Obama caused moderate Red Line delays on his way to the new Ted Kennedy Institute. It wasn’t that big of a deal; regular service resumed by 11 a.m.
