UPDATE: “Utility pole and wires have been removed or repositioned by the utility company. Residual delays expected. If possible, customers are encouraged to consider Commuter Rail from Braintree or Quincy Center if possible. Again, we apologize to out customers for the delays and inconvenience.” – MassDOT

UPDATE: A downed light pole near JFK/UMass station is causing delays on the shuttle bus to and form Braintree Station on the Red Line. You can’t make this stuff up.

I wish I had some better news for you all this morning but unfortunately that’s not the case. For all your public transit commuters out there, expect the same kind of MBTA conditions as Wednesday. The T will again be running limited trolley, subway and Commuter Rail service.

The Red and Orange Lines will will limp along much as they did yesterday. On the Red, buses will shuttle passengers between JFK/UMass and Braintree stations. This, the MBTA says, will last through Sunday, Feb. 15.

If you can, the MBTA is also asking that you hop on a Commuter train that will hit Braintree, Quincy Center and JFK/UMass stations as an alternative.

The Orange Line will run a single train between Oak Grove and Wellington Stations. This, the transit authority hopes, will only last throughout today with regular service resuming tomorrow and moving forward.

Blue and Green Lines will be operating at a lower frequency, meaning there will be a longer wait time between train arrivals.

Expect weather-relayed delays on every single line.

The Commuter Rail should run per usual, though several trips have been canceled:

  • 3351/352 and 355/356 on the Lowell Line,
  • 51/52 on the Newburyport Line,
  • 453/454 on the Fitchburg Line,
  • 259/260 on the Haverhill line,
  • 734/744 on the Fairmount line
  • 901/902 on the Stoughton Line
  • 793/734 on the Franklin Line
  • 582 on the Worcester Express

Gov. Charlie Baker, who put the MBTA’s performance on blast and was supposedly surprised at the sudden resignation of GM Beverly Scott, is slated to meet with T personnel sometime Thursday afternoon.
