Advertisers could get a shot at purchasing the naming rights to select MBTA stations all around the city.

Yesterday, BostInno broke the story about T officials mulling the opportunity to sell corporations the naming rights to up to 11 Hub T stops.

Today, we discussed what possibilities could come down the tracks.

Transit officials said they would be weary of entering contracts with potential bidders who could make a mockery of station monikers, but if they didn’t, this is what we thought the city could end up looking like.

We reached out to the comedic minds @ImprovAsylum to help generate the buzz about what funny names could potentially take over some of the transit agencies well-known stations.

We also turned to readers on twitter, who helped with some of these ideas using the hashtag #FakeMBTAStationNames.

Fig Newton Highlands via @leiran : They are from here. They are a not “just a cookie.” The company also relaunched it’s brand recently, dropping the “fig” part of their name and just going with “Newtons.” To increase their awareness about the new name they could offer samples at the T stop, which is part of the package when a bidder tries to take over naming rights. They could even have a person with a British accent announce the stop.

Jurassic Park 4 Street via @crimezscene : Like all good American films, the money-hungry movie-makers in Los Angeles are concocting yet another sequel to a sequel to a sequel, and slowly destroying your childhood dreams, with the release of the next installment of Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park 4 will be happening sometime in the future, and with the new movie, this would be a perfect way for them to advertise.

Sam Adams Summer Ale-wife Station via @nicholsmj : What better way to wet your whistle whilst traversing the underground then making a stop at a station named after one of Boston’s most-beloved homebrews?

Michael Jackson’s Wonderland Station: It’s like Jackson’s ranch. Everyone wants to know what goes on there, but people rarely would ever really go this far on the line. The MBTA is working on the stop as we speak, sprucing it up. They are scheduled to debut the new look this weekend, according to T officials. Why not capitalize on the new T stop by throwing the King of Pop’s contributions towards it.

(If that doesn’t go over well, John Mayer could always pay to call it, “Your Body is a Wonderland Station“).

Comedy Central Station: We have our fair share of comedians and chuckle-heads here in the Hub. We even popped out Dane Cook. Everyone still thinks he is funny, right? Not to mention, we are home to two great spots for local comedians and improvisation— The ImprovAsylum and ImprovBoston.

MITt Romney/Kendall Jenner Station: If the former Governor wants to really throw his hat in the race (he has a fair chance considering President Barack Obama flubbed while visiting recently), he could do some campaign advertising on the T by slapping his name on the MIT stop. One of the younger Kardashian’s (Kendal Jenner) could fight Romney for the naming rights. I’m sure she would win. And then tweet about it.

Snuggles Ruggles Station via @josephcouture : This station could probably use a little cuteness-factor. The fresh-laundry smell might actually help replace the other smells that emanate from this station, and most other stations along the MBTA. With the T allowing bidders to advertise samples at purchased stations, Snuggles could place soft pieces of cloth for people to lay on while sleeping on the T.

Downton Abbey Crossing via @improvasylum : The hit show that sort of came out of left field should have a good run for awhile. Why not advertise? The T is pretty much from World War I era anyways.

Hondo/KJ Celtics North Station: For all of their hard work and good effort this season, and because he go their names mixed up during an interview, we think that Mayor Thomas Menino should throw some cash towards naming North Station after Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett.

Hewlett-Packard’s Corner via @crimezscene : Being such a tech-savvy city, it would only make sense for some computer corporations to step in and put their name on the T.

What would you name MBTA stations?
