The MBTA unveiled what it’s calling a convenient shuttle bus schedule for Sunday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade.

For the first time ever, T buses will operate back and forth from South Station, up and down Southie’s Summer and East 1st Streets between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Those planning to take the subway to the festivities should hop on the Red Line and ride it to South Station, Andrew Station and/or Broadway Station. But the T is warning customers in advance that trains will frequently bypass Broadway due to large crowds and for preventative public safety measures.

Additionally, all buses will stop providing service to Broadway at roughly 9:45 a.m. due to traffic and road closures. Red Line service will remain in effect.

The following buses will operate on diverted routes:

  • Route 9: Service will not operate for the duration of the parade.
  • Route 10: Service will begin/terminate at Andrew Station.
  • Route 11: Service will not operate for the duration of the parade.
  • Route 47: Service will begin/terminate at Andrew Station.

The 7 bus, which is normally out of service on Sundays, will run from South Station to City Point beginning at 7 a.m. Trips out of South Station towards City Point will run on the hour with the last bus scheduled to depart at 6 p.m. City Point-to-South Station service will operate every 30 minutes with the last trip scheduled to depart at 6:30 p.m.
